“Necessity is the mother of invention," and as the coronavirus has forced many people around the world to rethink their daily lives, from work to school to entertainment, change has been swift. It has been imperative to digitally transform places of work and education to be able to continue to operate. The organizations that can use technology well and are flexible enough to rethink their business models by fast-tracking digital transformation and investing in data center infrastructure services will be successful. Here are examples of how some organizations and life services have changed drastically:
Telehealth
Before
the coronavirus pandemic, there was some progress made in telemedicine;
however, public health officials and healthcare systems have now been pushing
to expand their telemedicine service delivery through smartphones and other
tools.
Ability to Work from Home
Companies
that were resistant to the concept of a distributed workforce have been forced
to rely on working from home so that business can continue while we halt the
spread of the virus. These companies have invested in new hardware and new data center infrastructure services to make this possible.
Remote Learning
As the coronavirus spread throughout countries, schools,
colleges, and universities were forced to turn to virtual learning options. Many
universities decided to shift the remainder of the semester’s work to online
learning as they closed campuses to contain the virus's spread. While many
universities had experience with virtual learning and were better prepared for
the shift, the majority of educational organizations were not ready for online classes.
