Jobs working for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) providers, technology companies, or cloud providers will increase, performing many of the activities in-house IT Ops personnel once provided. IT Ops jobs will follow services, hardware, and applications, and migrate to the cloud, and data center training courses will be critical.

 

IT Ops will focus more on security and application performance, rather than hardware and network management. Instead of an infrastructure-centric focus, IT Ops professionals will need to assume an applications-centric focus and work with technologies based around services and apps rather than servers.
